It’s come up a few times: “How can I support Carbonation Press?” We now have a structure in place.

Carbonation Press isn’t a nonprofit or a business, and I have explored revenue and offsetting costs since the beginning. Typical costs for Carbonation Press, which are paid out of pocket (until I secure grant funding!), include but aren’t limited to: proof copies of new titles, author copies (20x per author release), press copies (10x per author release), and press archive copies (1x per author release). Additionally, we are exploring moving Carbonation over to its own website, which includes domain registration and web hosting fees through Squarespace or a comparable host.

These costs have been partially covered by online sales from Carbonation Press via Lulu and global distribution, but sales have yet to reach the amount that can cover all costs. Thus, the donation structure! We’ve decided to use Donorbox to receive donations on an ongoing basis. A donation box is now on the main Carbonation page: https://gregbem.com/carbonation-press/
