Poem in STILLS

“Poets respond to the films of the 2025 CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival”

I have a new ekphrastic poem in this anthology, which was published by Seattle’s Ravenna Press, just this month. “stern / against stern” is in response to the wonderful film, Village Keeper, which was featured in the film festival. Regretfully, I won’t be at the upcoming release reading in Bellingham, but I recommend going if you’re there and happen to be reading this. Info from editor Kathryn Rantala:

I also want to let you know there will be a book launch December 12 at Asland Brewing Company, a Brewpub, 1330 N Forest St, Bellingham at 6:30 p.m. Readings from the book will go from 7-8:00 followed by live music. Everyone is welcome! If you want to read that evening, contact me beforehand for scheduling. I have heard that the host venue, along with all else they offer, is crafting a special cider for the launch–it will be a fine evening! [See their menu at: https://www.aslanbrewing.com/brewpub]  Village Books will be on hand to do the honors re: sales (and, of course, as contributors you can purchase copies with your discount anytime through me as long as stock holds out.)

You can order a copy of the anthology at the reading, or reach out to me if you’re interested in a copy..
